Start with the problem, not the token chart

What must be true for this token to have durable demand, and how could you verify it beyond the project’s own pitch? Begin with the product and the people or organizations expected to use it. A functioning website, active community, or exchange listing does not by itself establish recurring demand.

Then trace the claimed use of the token. Does it pay for a service, secure a network, govern a protocol, or mainly serve as a fundraising and trading instrument? The SEC’s investor bulletin on coin offerings urges readers to examine disclosures and claims; the key question is whether the token’s role is specific and observable.

Map supply, control, and usable liquidity

Compare circulating supply with total or maximum supply, and read the release schedule rather than relying on a single market-cap figure. Team, investor, treasury, and ecosystem allocations can become available on different dates. Unlocks are not automatic sell orders, but they change the amount that could reach the market.

Check who can alter contracts, pause transfers, mint tokens, or direct treasury funds. Review the stated governance process and whether voting power is concentrated. For liquidity, compare executable depth across venues with the size you might trade; a quoted price can coexist with thin books or substantial withdrawal and custody risk.

Write down what would disprove the thesis

A concise research note can separate verified facts from forecasts: product usage, token rights, circulating supply, upcoming releases, contract controls, and venue access. Record the source and date because dashboards, project documents, and exchange listings can change. If a claim depends on a private roadmap or an unaudited metric, label that dependency.

Even a careful review cannot establish fair value or predict adoption. The cited investor materials describe market, technology, custody, and offering risks; they do not verify a particular project’s promises. Treat missing disclosures, unclear authority, or an unexplained token role as unresolved evidence, not as proof of safety or failure. This article is educational information, not individualized investment, tax, or legal advice. Verify current prices, regulations, fees, and product documents before acting, and consider speaking with a qualified professional when the decision is material.
